Love the look of this dress, in photos and on the hanger. And the green color is dynamite. The neckline felt a little high on me, so I felt a bit frumpy in it, so I sent it back. A little less material (not in a skimpy way) would have made this an A on me!

Wanted to love this dress with its nice definition of the bust and full skirt but the fabric felt to heavy and just didn't flatter. Alas, it went back.

This dress is beautifully tailored. It is very cute with a cardigan. I bought size 8L and love the fit. I am 5'1", 140 lbs. The dress hits me mid calf and is VERY flattering. The fabric seems easy to care for. I do not like anything that needs dry cleaning since I have 4 young children at home. I would think this dress would look good on anyone, especially someone with curves.

So becoming for a host of figures. Great for a great figure, great if you have a little tummy to hide. So comfortable yet keeps it's shape and finished look. Sleeves flattering even for someone who shies away from shorter/cap sleeves. Try it - you'll be thrilled.

I ordered the chancery dress in the green. It is a lovely emerald. I found the photo hue accurate. I love the little detail at the neck. It fit true to size. It is well-made. The fabric is very soft, comfortable and skims in a flattering way, no clinging.

As it turned out for me, the cut of the skirt did not work for my frame. This was disappointing because I love the look of the swishing voluminous skirt and had never tried the style on before. It may be I am too short to carry the look off in a non-petite size.

This is a great dress for the right people. I think you should give it a go if you are average to tall height, and it would be extremely flattering for pear shaped figures.

Other reviewers are right, this has a very Audrey Hepburn "feel" with its cut and swishy skirt. But, sadly, I had to send it back because it didn't really work on my longish torso. Instead of feeling elegant, I felt frumpy because the fullness of the skirt started well above my hips. That said, it's well made, as much of Boden's stuff is, and I'm guessing it would work well on someone curvier and shorter waisted. Lesson learned: I do better in Boden's straighter-cut dresses.

I just received my black Chancery Dress in the mail...and I absolutely LOVE it! It is completely my style! I went according to the size chart and ordered a four, and it fits very well. It's comfortable, very modest, but also so classic and beautiful. I will wear the heck out of this. This will most likely be one of my favorite items to have ever owned! Thank you, Boden!!

This is a very classic design, and a great alternative to a suit. I got the dress in gray, and it's a little too boring for my taste, but I decided to keep it because it will travel well and looks very polished. It looks great with a cardigan for work. The key drawback is the fabric is so HEAVY. That's better than skimpy; it's very good quality. But despite the short sleeves, it's a fall/winter choice for those who live in the South.

Never has over-the-head one piece dressing looked so good.Great with flip-flops and a cardigan or heels and pearls!

So glad I read all the reviews. I hover between a 10 and 12, but generally like things on the loose side. Ordered both and the 10 fits like a dream. At 5'8", I ordered the tall and it hits my legs in the most flattering way. Also, I'm long waisted and this hits at the smallest part of my waist, and is very flattering. Whoever called it their Audrey Hepburn dress was right on the money. This is a classic that you can dress up when going from work to dinner/cocktails. Highly recommend.
