I was so excited to get this dress, but once it arrived, it was BLAH at best. The red and white gingham is actually red and pink-ish. The lining was even pink. On this 5'4" frame, the dress was shin length - eeek. At the knee is even too long for this style. To boot, the dress has lots of extra room around the hips and rear. Not something us curvy girls need more of! As a pro, the dress is extremely well made and the fabric is heavenly!

I purchased this dress in yellow and wore it with wellies to a friend's rainy outdoor country wedding. Styling & fit is good. It would be nice if the outer fabric or liner was a bit heavier, as it is it's a bit too sheer.

First the positives--this is a beautifully made dress, wonderful quality, I love the yellow gingham and the comfortable cotton lining. Unfortunately, this dress just made me look dowdy. I have seen it on a few bloggers, and it looks adorable on them, but I couldn't even salvage it with a belt. I am 5'3" 120# and 34-26-36, and I took a 4 which is the smaller of my two Boden sizes. I have a shorter torso, but the "waist" (there isn't a ton of shaping) of this dress almost hits where an empire waist would, so belts fall at a strange place if you want to wear them at your waist. In addition, the length came to just below my knee, which doesn't do much for me as a shorty when the the outfit otherwise doesn't have much shape--I prefer a shorter length in a summer dress. I was sad to send this back, though I would still recommend it if it works for your body type.

I loved the picture of this dress on the model, but I ordered the "long" so the dress would cover my legs at least through mid-knee. It was still too short. Also, I think the color is closer to the pics on the mannequin (a bit drab) rather than the pic on the model (bright). The dress is shapeless, and I can't belt it because it's already too short. Also, the lining doesn't come all the way to the bottom of the dress. The shapelessness might be fine, but combined with the length issues, I think this one is going back. I said, "Yes, I would recommend this to a friend" but I would include the various warnings/advice listed here. It could be perfect for someone else!

This dress, which I bought in navy, is adorable. The fabric is a nice summer weight and I love the sleeves and pintuck detailing. I am pretty curvy (36G) and the 14L is just a little snugger than I would like, but I still love it and am sure that the 16 will be perfect.

I got the sunny yellow and love the look of the gingham and color for spring/summer. I plan to wear it to work and out and about. Great choice when you need to throw something on that you don't want to cling in the heat. I gave it less than 5 stars only because that due to the button placket & cut of the waist, it can look like a maternity dress on you if you have any kind of mid-section pudge. I would have rather had it done like a true shirtwaist dress to steer it away from that potential look. Otherwise, very comfy and fun.

I wasn't sure about this dress when I ordered it (honestly, I felt quite certain it would be returned), but I thought I would give it a try. It's turned out to be my fave Boden purchase ever. The fit is very flattering (not too tight, and not like an A-line dress that seems like it might be hiding a baby bump). The gingham pattern is fresh and fun. I'm a true size 6 and this fits perfectly (the chest is not too tight and the skirt not too loose).

I never know whether to say I am "comfort driven" or "style driven" but this dress fits both criteria! I love the linen, the attention to detail and the overall design. I wear a size 4 and it is true to size. The only reason that I didn't give it a five star rating is because I am going to have it hemmed. I am 5'5 and I only plan to wear this casually, so I want it to be a bit shorter. If someone wanted to wear it to work, it would be perfect as is. I am a mother of three and an artist and for the places I go, I want it a bit shorter.
All in all, it is a very cute dress and I am happy with my purchase. Also, the gingham fabric really makes this dress stand out. I bought the red and plan on wearing it on every patriotic holiday!

This dress had such potential- i was going to pair with purple belt or tan but then tried on and disaster- big in back and tight around butt. sure it's best for boyish, straight figures. hard to belt because of waistline being empire

I'm 5 foot 3 and 125 lbs, I have broad shoulders and a 36 C bra, the 8 was too big. I'm waiting for the 6 to arrive.
