Love the look and weight of these shorts. Perfect for physically active kids. I had high hopes for these for my clothing-sensitive seven-year-old, but, alas, she finds the waistband too constrictive. So perhaps I would suggest sizing up. I bought her usual Boden size 8 and the fit was too snug. And she's super skinny and tall, like a string bean!

I bought two pairs of these shorts for my almost 2yo. She is 34" and about 24lb, so I went with the 1 1/2y size. They are large in the waist compared to the Towelling shorts, and it would be nice if the waist had more elastic, because a drawstring is not practical for young children using the toilet on their own. I love the soft material, and the green is a fun color. The stripes on the waistband are a nice touch.

My daughters love these shorts because they are cute and comfortable. It's hard to get them washed since they are always wearing them! They run a bit small so I'd suggest ordering up a size if your child is in between sizes.

I usually have to size down for my tall and skinny 8-yr. old (52" tall & 22" waist) but for these shorts, the size 8 is a perfect fit without having to tighten the drawstring. (We actually ordered both sizes 7 and 8 and there wasn't too much of a difference.) For the price, I wish there were pockets or more details other than the cute waistband, which is covered most of the time, but it's a good length and very comfortable for both sports and general use.
