I can't put into words how much I love this coat! Since I don't wear wool, I was looking for a velveteen winter coat and could not find one anywhere, until I saw this in the catalogue. It's perfect. I have gotten so many compliments. I'm also partial to the contrast lining! I like that the design is streamlined, and the colors are great. Originally I wanted a 'classic' black velveteen coat but in the long run I am happy that the coat only came in fun colors, so I was 'forced' to colorize! Great for the dreary winter season!
I'd say that the coat runs small. I had to send it back twice until I got the right size. But otherwise it is very comfortable. Note that the buttons come loose, but that is easily fixable. Also, it should have one more button at the bottom, for cold and windy days.
But otherwise, it is perfect. Next year I want to get a second coat, so I hope that Boden will continue to carry a velveteen coat every winter season!

I was very excited to get the coat and very disappointed when I put it on. When I looked a the back of the coat in the mirror, the pleat in the back was very unflattering. It may have looked better without the pleat. I had to return it. The color was a bit more yellow-green than in the picture.

It would be better if the lining wasn't cotton but a more slippery material - because the lining is cotton it tends to cling to other fabrics and bunch up. The coat is a bit bulky compared to the slim picture the website offers. It balloons at from the waste a good deal.

I love the color of this coat; got the green one; it's just too narrow in the shoulder. It has to go back. I gave it 4 stars because every thing is great about the coat exept the shoulders; but if you have narrow shoulders, you will love this jacket.

I love the idea of this coat. Great style. Great color. Great material. But, it was so big and bulky. I don't think a smaller size would have helped. The cut was awful. I had to send it back and I never send my Boden goods back. Big and bulky. So sad. I really wanted to make it work.

I really love this color and wanted to love the jacket but it is really just too big on me, even in the size 2, so it looked bulky and unattractive. I wish they offered a smaller, more trim, version I'd grab it in a second!

I wanted so much to love this coat but it just was too bulky. I am 5'4" and a size 4 or 6 and the coat fit me well in the shoulders but then there was just too much coat below. I felt like it didn't have enough shape to it to work for me. Probably would be lovely on someone taller. I bought the Turmeric color which is a nice rich color, would definitely recommend this color if you want something a little different.
