The still shots made the dress look really shapeless. I decided to try it because I love the feel and look of silk dresses and you cannot beat the sale price. And I am really glad that I did. This is an elegant, versatile and ageless piece. It can be worn to work as well as to special occasions. It's gonna hold its place in my wardrobe for many years. It looks just fine w/o a belt but if you want to accentuate your waist a skinny belt (maybe with a bit of shine/glimmer?) will do the trick. On the flip side, it is a tad difficult to get off, but not too bad.

I ordered this on a whim recently after a I decided I needed a new navy dress. The reviews weren't favorable, but that has never really stopped me from ordering. Thank goodness. The dress is gorgeous beyond what I expected. The little details, like the pin tucking around the side, the lush fabric, the back button rather that a zip. the fit is terrific, if not a little loose, but it has a modern feel. I ordered my usual 6, may have gotten away with a 4, but I'm not sure that I would want it to be fitted, the way it hangs a bit is lovely. I should mention that it is much more fitted than the picture online with the belted image. I have no reason for the turquoise version, but I am soooo tempted.... (For reference 5''7", 130)

I liked this dress better in person than from the pictures. It is much more slim-fitted than it appears. Very lightweight and my biggest complaint is the opening in the back is too large and gapes open quite a bit...oh, and it might look nice with a little belt but that didn't work well for me. I got the navy.

This is a very beautiful dress with a vintage classic look that I really wanted to love. I even ordered 2 sizes convinced that I am going to keep one. Unfortunately, I will return them because of the polyester lining. Why in the world did you put a polyester lining on a silk dress??? The whole benefit of wearing silk is completely lost by this terrible lining. I would not have even thought about it if it did not stick to my legs terribly. Dear Boden please stop this terrible practice of making the lining of dresses from polyester, especially the lining of dresses made out of beautiful (gorgeous) natural fabrics...After noticing this, I looked at some other dresses and noticed that this practice is not unique to this dress....

I always try to buy at least one of the limited edition dresses every season (especially when they go on sale!). They are well made and fit wonderfully. This dress is no exception.
It does not come with the belt but it doesn't need one. The dress looked great on. I am going to get a lot of use out of this beautiful Boden piece
