I bought this with matching jacket as suit alternative. I am between size 2 and 4 with athletic build. Bought the size 2 and it fits like a glove. Makes me look shapely (no small feat). Very professional with the jacket, could be dressier with more jewelry and fancy belt. Skirt is quite narrow, so is not built for fast walking and I must sit with legs quite close, but overall it is a winner. I wear it immediately every time it is clean - professional but interesting looking.

I bought this in the blue/cobalt color, thinking it would be a great alternative to suits for work. Unfortunately some of the reviews are dead on -- the shaping is odd, in that there's extra fabric in the stomach area (making me look pregnant, which I'm not!). And it was just generally large compared to how Boden normally fits me with my regular size. Fortunately I can sew, so I took in the front lower darts more, and also took in the back seam some. Now I love it! But if you're shaped like I am (slim, kinda an athletic build), you must be open to alterations.

I ordered this in blue. It is really more of a beautiful, deep purple color. The fit was true to size, the fabric is a perfect weight and does not wrinkle. This dress is very versatile, it can be dressed up or down and looks great belted or plain, with tights and boots, etc. It's perfect without spanx as everything is smooth as can be, if you know what I mean.
Thank you Boden for the generous hem and seam allowances so that minor alterations are a snap for tweaking here and there.

I purchsed this dress to wear to work. The material feels great even though its wool (no itchiness). I ordered a 6, my typical size and it was a great fit. I received a lot of compliments on the dress. The only con is the side-zip, it makes putting on the dress a bit difficult, a full back-zip would have been better.

I'm usually a 12R in Boden dresses, so ordered accordingly. I was looking forward to the tailored style of this dress, as I have an hourglass figure and this looked like it would complement it. Not so, unfortunately. The banded waist was much looser than I expected, and higher than my natural waist. The chest area was fine (I'm larger on top) and perhaps because of that, the rest of the dress sort of hung off me without any definition. Because of the price of the dress, I will return it and not spend extra money having it altered. Too bad.

I buy a lot of Boden clothes and almost always take an 8 or 8L. This dress is lovely but HUGE! I'd order a smaller size but it's no longer available. I love the unique color (blue), though, so I'm paying $40 to have the dress taken in--FIVE inches of extra fabric! Keep in mind that alterations may add to the cost--otherwise a great dress.

I have the Sleeveless version (12L) of the same dress which I always get a lot of compliments on. It is comfortably snug and definitely accentuates the curves. I bought the same size in this 3/4 Sleeve, and it is like it is a completely different animal. Huge. Saggy in all the wrong places, the waist is enormous and my butt looks huge. It is even loose around the bust, which never happens! What a shame, I was so looking forward to this dress. The Color is a beautiful blue, but a beautiful blue sack is still a sack. It must go back.
