I was so disappointed with how this dress looked on me. I am certain it works for other people, and it does look fitted on the model, but it made me look dowdy. I tried the Long because I think full skirts need the length in order to get the right proportions. But that was not the problem. The problem was the torso/waist which was thick, bulky, the horizontal banding somehow adding width rather than definition to the waist. It am a little long waisted and yet this dress made me look squat. A really interesting fabric, heavy with woven dots, perfect for winter.

I originally ordered the Long in this dress based on reviews. However, it was way too long - couple inches below my knee. I'm 5'6. So back it went and fortunately the R was still available in my size. I absolutely love this dress. Very stylish and beautifully made.

I got this as a gift in the brown, but it really washed my skin out so I exchanged it for the plan black. It love it! It is really nice weight for the winters. It is a classic shape that you can dress up or down. Haven't had to wash it yet.

I love the shape, fabric and the POCKETS! Waist is cut slightly high, but not so much that it throws off the line of the dress. I love it and hope there's a spring version in a lighter fabric.

Terrific work dress. My only quibble is that the zipper area needs to be reinforced with interfacing, as it's a bit hard to operate the zip. But the cut and the fabric are lovely.

I loved this dress so much when I saw a photo of it! I ordered it and opened it and material was magnificent- nice, thick material that worked really well with the shape of the dress. And then I tried it on. I wear petite dresses because I have no midsection. But the regular fit of this dress had the waistline slightly over the empire waistline. I reordered it in long, and with that it was a lovely empire waisted dress. Too bad, because if the waist fell at the waist it would have been the world's perfect dress.

I was skeptical about this dress from all of the previous comments but I really liked it. Except for a few small things: I wish the neckline was more of a boatneck or a little closer to my neck. Also, where the dress comes in at the wait could be a little lower. It was a bit too high up for my taste. I wanted it to be just a little more hourglass shaped. It seemd very well made and I loved the fabric and, for the most part, I did like the fit, it was just the two details that got me and now I'm sadly returning it. :< boo hoo.

Sadly, I am returning the dress. The neckline was broader than I desired. Also, the dress was not flattering to my figure.
The fabric was a great weight for fall and winter. The dress was a classic that appeared to be very well constructed.

I love this dress. It has a beautiful, classic shape. It may seem plain to some people, but I love classic shapes so it fit right into my wardrobe. I received multiple compliments when I wore it to work. I typically wear a size 2 in Boden clothing but ended up going with a size 4 in petite because the 2 was a little snug around the ribs. The length was great on me, but I'm only 5' 2". The dress is very comfortable and even has pockets! I don't know why, but I think the pockets are a fantastic touch. If I had to make a complaint, then I would have to say the wool is just slightly itchy, but I do tend to have sensitive skin.
