The tailoring and charcoal fabric are high quality, very menswear and a bit heavier than I expected but still OK for year-round wear here in L.A. thanks to the short cap sleeves. The cut is feminine and flattering. I'm 5' 4" 120#, busty (34D) and normally wear a 4, but based on other reviews ordered the 6 petite and I am happy with it though on anyone taller than me the petite length might be too short due to the back slit. There is a little extra fabric in the back/waist area so I may get alterations, but it's fine as-is; the top and shouders fit perfectly and the front pleats hide my poochy belly. I plan to wear for work meetings, with a statement necklace and bright shoes to jazz up the conservative fabric.

I bought this dress and the more fitted version with the jacket as a suit alternative for work. This dress was WAY too much material for my frame. It fit, but the cross-bust wrap and some extra material at the tummy made me look like a saggy mummy. I guess it would be better for a large busted woman with a tummy, but it certainly would not hide anything. Back it goes.

Dress is great for work and the color is very flattering. It's a nice change from black and grey. I originally got the dress in size 10 (my usual size), but it was wide in the hips, so I exchanged it for a size 8. Fits much better!

I purchased this for a special occasion, but I also knew I would be able get lots of wear out of this dress. I have a curvey, pear shaped figure, and so I bought the size that matched my hips. I then took it to a tailor for customization in the waist & bust. I am so glad that I invested in this piece for my wardrobe. It is classic and so I can pull it for work, or for a special social occasion, I style it with a wide belt and heels.
