I so wanted to love this dress. It's beautifully made - as I've found most Boden products - and the design is lovely, as is the gold color. It just didn't fit me properly for my event. I bought it for a wedding and wanted to look smashing and it just didn't fit tightly enough, was a bit longer than I wanted and was (dare I say it) a tad bit matronly. I think it has a place - and might have worked had I the time to order a smaller size - I typically wear an 8 reg - (I'm 5'7" 125+lbs) but am going down a size 'cuz 8s seem a bit large now, so I ordered a 6 and I think I could have worn a 2 in this! Anyway, try it for it's beauty and well made design, but be prepared and order a bit smaller than usual.

I bought this to wear to a wedding, and it would have been perfect. I must send it back because it simply is too tight in hip to thigh area. The upper body portion fits fine. I am a thin person at 5'7". I bought a size 2. My guess is size 4 will be too large in chest/ upper body, but possibly lower portion would fit better.

I REALLY wanted this dress to work because it's beautiful! I ordered a 4L and a 6L for a wedding and figured one of them would fit, but unfortunately neither of them would work without altering. The 4 fits my top half perfectly but is much too tight on my butt and hips. The 6 was too large on top, too large on my waist, and too large on my hips. It seemed like this dress was meant to fit a top heavy or athleticly shaped person. Too bad! I am sad there is no size for my body in this beautiful dress.

I am 5'7", 124#, always looking for classic clothes at bargain prices. This dress is perfect for weddings, evening parties, or a romantic night out. Classic style and fit that can be worn for years. I ordered the size 4R (USA) (same size I always order in Boden) and found it to be a bit roomy. I sent it back for the 2; definitely recommend sizing down. Length is also great, right at the knee. At the sale price, should not let this one get away...

Just received this yesterday so I can't comment on durability, but I tried it on this morning & the dress is beautifully made. It does run a little large & long, but I will have it tailored to fit. The design is simple but the neckline makes it really elegant & unique, & very flattering. Bought it in the dark navy & I plan to wear it to weddings, etc. spring through fall (& perhaps winter in a southern location). The silk/cotton fabric is dressy but comfortable & practical. The overall style/silhouette reminds me of the Sophia dress I bought last year & have worn many times, receiving many compliments.
