I am so conflicted. I wanted so badly to love this dress - I got it on clearance, so I can't complain too badly about the price, but it didn't look nearly as good as on the model. There is very little tapering from bust to hip, and my waist gets utterly lost somewhere in the middle. I'm a bottom heavy hour glass. Sorta Tinkerbell shaped, with a small bust, smaller waist, and distinctly hippy. I ordered the smaller of my two usual sizes, and the dress fits well enough up top but is shapeless from the empire waist down. Maybe it's just a bad fit on my body type.

That said, the dress is gorgeous. The neck detailing is lovely, and the wool material is thick and luxurious. I'm going to take it to my friendly neighborhood tailor to see if he can make any adjustments. If he can't, this dress is going back. :'(

I'm usually in between Boden sizes 4 and 6 (5'9", 138 lb). I purchased size 6L - it's great, however needs slight adjustment at the waistline (I'll just bring it to my seamstress).
Fabric is pretty nice, dress itself looks pretty comfortable and at the same time fashionable. Great purchase.

Purchased this dress for husband's company party. Looked great right out of the box. The jeweled collar made the dress stand out without glaring. Easy to wear and comfortable. I wear an 8 normally but upon reading the measurements for this dress, I chose a 10. I have a larger bust and didn't want a tight fit. Husband loved it and I received many compliments at the party.

This dress has a very pretty neck/collar. It makes the dress unique among 'the little black dress' . I like the design and the material the dress is made of. The empire waist is big, too big . I'm 5'10, 150# with a small waist. It's lost in the dress. I love the length, however. It's below the knee. I am looking forward to wearing this to a holiday party. I may take in the waist.

I bought this dress for my high school reunion and holiday parties.

It's a comfortable, classic dress for parties and special occasions. The fabric is a great wool (which I didn't realize at the time of purchase), and a perfect weight for winter months. The set-in waist band has great placement, and fit my ample bust line well.

The one drawback, is that the hand-finished neckline does catch on fabric, and pull on long hair. I could hear the sounds of my (vintage!) coat lining catching on some of the jewel casings. Thankfully, nothing snagged or ripped. I wore my hair out of the way of the neckline, no problems.

You may need assistance fastening the button and snaps on the back of the neck, the design makes it a bit tricky to do alone.

Apart from the neckline issues (which is REALLY FAB and WORTH IT), this is a GREAT, CLASSY DRESS. 4.5 stars!

This is a great cocktail dress! Super comfortable, and the neckline makes it easy - no need to worry about accessorizing! I am a bit of a pear shape, so the empire waist is a great fit. Love it!
