I adore the Peter Pan collar. Other reviewers complained about the length and I can see how from the picture the dress appears longer. I happen to find the length perfect for my style. I bought this dress a size larger than usual. It is so comfortable to wear at the office. With the right accessories I can easily convert this dress for a night on the town. I haven't washed it yet but given the warning about shrinkage I may decide to dry clean it. I love this dress and would be bummed if it was ruined in the wash.

Why did I not see the reviews that warned of the shrinking?!
This dress is a beautiful design with lovely fabric (at first!)and a myriad of uses...I wore it to work, to a gallery, and out to dinner. Yes, only three times.
I washed it as directed and it shrunk. And not in the way that would make it fit if you ordered a size up, in the way that the lining is now two inches longer than the dress's outer fabric.
I am so saddened by this, because I really love this dress! I'm going to have to call to arrange for a return, and then head back out to search for the perfect black dress.
Originally, this dress fit true to size. I am on the shorter side (just over 5'0) and usually wear a 12-14 in dresses. I ordered the 14 for length, as some reviewers mentioned it looked and felt shorter than listed. The sleeves were a little long for me (I prefer 3/4 sleeves) but workable.
Maybe dry cleaning would work? I don't know.
Please try again, Boden...this dress could be so amazing!

I really wanted to love this dress, but when I tried it on and looked in the mirror, I felt like a school girl. The peter pan collar, pleated accents, and short length added to the effect. Being that I am petite, it is important that my clothes to make me feel like a grown woman. The fit and make were fine, I was simply hoping to look like a femme fatale (as the model appears in the photo) instead of a woman trying to recapture her teenage years.

I definitely missed the posted length of the dress in the measurements section. This dress is too short. It is comparative in length to the loulou dress, but, unlike the loulou dress, the iris dress is more fitted and really shows how short it is! Tights couldn't hide it.
On the plus side, this dress is amazingly proportioned to even fit pear-sized me. I was not self-conscious of my hips at all in the dress. I would have kept it if it wasn't for the missing three inches of fabric at the bottom.
The fabric is light, but feels sturdy. I really am wishing this could have worked.

Once I put on this dress (4L for my 5'4" and 120lbs frame), I did not want to take it off!
Finally, a boden dress that has everything I am looking for: make me slimmer, show off waist, it has sleeves so no need to worry about bra straps, washable, drapery and comfy fabric, and little details. This dress flows and drapes beautifully.
The only quibble is that the fabric wrinkles when I sit. But I still love it as it is the prettiest dress I have received from boden!

First of all, this dress is far shorter than that in the picture. I am 5''4" and it was a definite mini. Second, after I washed it according to the directions on the label, it shrank. I usually adore my Boden dresses, and this looked pretty on, but it had to go back. If you buy it, expect a mini and dry clean it only.
