Got this in the apple stencil and the navy and taupe paisley pattern. Both dresses are great once altered! I normally wear a 6 in Boden dresses and got the long in this option to ensure it would be knee-length. I had the side pockets removed and had the dresses taken in along the sides to make them more fitted. Perfect! Before altering they were pretty sack-like ... Love them now and they will get lots of wear this summer.

I was sure that I would love this dress. I was so wrong! I am a 4/6 in Boden. The size 4 was the best fit, but it was tight around the hips and very baggy in the waist. Looking at the photos, you would never guess how heavy, thick and scratchy the material is. It is truly like a thick tent canvas. I felt like I was wearing inflexible plastic, not even material. Whatever blend they used, should never be used for clothing. (Shoes, maybe, lol!) I was bummed because the patterns are so cute and colors so fun. I gave it one star just because of the cute patterns and "idea" of the dress. The fit and everything else about it were awful. Probably Boden's biggest "miss" yet.

Purchased my usual US6 from Boden, am X-shaped, and the dress fits me well. The fabric is slightly thicker cotton which I like and is comfortable. The dress is cut well and the length is great for my age, but I am short at 5 ft tall, obviously would be shorter length on a taller person. Very pleased. Personally will wear on vacation, out for casual summer dinner, or outdoor party.

This dress is made of very thick cloth and the fit in the waist was very wide - not flattering at all. I'm tall and curvey...maybe that's the deal. Perhaps this would look nice on a smaller framed person. It looks grat on the model. I ordered an XL based on my measurements, but opted not to try a smaller size because of the fabric. It's quality...just not for me.
If you like vintage 70's polyester thickness..this would be the ideal dress for you - just in cotton. There was a time that I loved that type of material (~5 yrs ago), but I'm really not digging it now. Hope this helps...

I ordered this dress last year and it is one of my favorites, so I was excited to order it this year. I don't know what happened, but the sleeves on this year's model are extremely small compared to last year. The dress is cute and was on sale, so I ended up just cutting off the strangling sleeves and converting this into a sleeveless dress. I also added darts to the front like I did to last year's model so it is not so boxy. It would help if the designers of these dresses made sure the sizes were consistent from year to year.

I gave this little dress a try, and the pattern is just so cute. I really wanted to make it work. But, it's made just a bit too fitted for a summer dress, and the fabric is very thick. I'm sure it would be super durable, but I'm sending this one back.

I wanted a casual, versatile dress for anywhere where you don't want to be overdressed or underdressed. Looks great with a bright-colored leather belt just above the hips for a cross between a "put together" and casual look. I suspected I could break it in before the first wear by machine-washing this dress in the delicate cycle with Woolite and tumble drying it on low for 15 min. So, I did. Afterward, I hung it up--amazing how it was almost completely dry in that short a time. Here's the best part: Not only did the dress NOT shrink or lose its shape, it was virtually wrinkle-free, much softer, and the color in the pattern was very slightly faded. It's already taking on a patina that will only get better as it gets older: a well-loved stylish classic. Going forward, I'll only toss in the dryer on low for no more than 10 min. to eliminate any wrinkles and then hang to dry.

Love this dress! Bought the coral carnival print and it is beautiful! Looking at this print makes me happy. The blue is kind of a light periwinkle and the coral is so soft. In person the colors seem slightly muted compared to the computer image. I was worried about the large print but it's not an issue because the colors are so beautiful. I would love to see these colors again next year. I'm 5"5" and it is a respectable length above the knee (6R). This is a heavier cotton, like a light canvas so it retains its shape and does not hug the body. It's great for running errands, casual events, vacation, shopping, sightseeing and casual dining. I normally wear a 6 US. in Boden and this fits fine.It is a little large around my waist but a skinny belt works fine if I want a cinched look but I probably won't bother. I haven't washed it but I don't have a problem when I wash and hang items to dry.

I received this today and it's beautiful. Love the pattern (truffle carnival) and it looks great on. I usually am an 8 in Boden clothing (very occasioanally a ten) and that's what I ordered. It fits really well, true to size. Slightly snug in the hips, but that's where I carry my extra weight. ;) But truly, a good fit, and very comfortable. My husband said it looked really nice. However, it's just too short to wear to work. It's not terribly short, or anything that would draw attention to oneself, but I wasn't comfortable with the length in an office setting. I like my Boden dresses to be work and weekend friendly, so this has to go back. :(
