I don't know why it seems so hard to find a jacket with a hood these days, so Boden, I thank you. In Ohio, and with a child that I need to get in and out of a car seat, this perfect little raincoat is ideal. It has a nice classic look with spunk. After reading the other reviews, I did buy the 8 over the 6 to give just a bit more room for layering as the weather would dictate. Exactly the raincoat I have been looking for.

I've wanted a short rain coat for a while, and this hits most of my requirements. I would prefer side pockets instead of top flap pockets, but these are not uncomfortable to use. I really love the inside fabric. Boden always pays attention to the details.

Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

I am a 14 but a 12 fits perfect. I have two of the original Rainy Day Macs--love them!!! The original is very flattering and this new version is much more boxy and not flattering at all. It is cute and will keep it but must say it is not just a shorter version of the original-which bummed me out. Was surprised by the material too, it is more like a traditional raincoat.

The buttons on this jacket overwhelmed me. I am petite though. (And, speaking of which, Boden: PLEASE MAKE SOME RAINWEAR FOR PETITE WOMEN!) The contrast lining is lovely and the fabric seemed perfect for spring showers. I typically wear a 4R when a petite size isn't available and I found this a bit tighter than usual across the shoulders and chest than other 4Rs I've tried on.

I was looking for something like this for a while. Great combination of practical and outdoor style with fashion!

I love this Rainy Day Mac, I've had my eye on one for awhile and was pleased to purchase the shorter version. I'm usually either a 4 or 6 in Boden, but I decided to go with the 6 so I could wear sweaters comfortably under the coat and I'm glad I did.

I love the bright yellow mac on a rainy day and the white buttons and lining make it special and fun to wear- but FYI thi is not a shorter version of the classic Rainy Day Mac - the material is shinier, lighter, more like a classic raincoat without extra warmth.
Other differences: The hood is not removable, which is fine. It is a button only closure - no zipper. The pockets are not side pockets, just top button-flap closure and this was/is very hard to get used to for me. They aren't as useful as the side and top pockets the Classic Rainy Day Mac have. I liked the tapered arm fit, the sleeves were just the right length for me and I have longer arms.
Bonus: I am a teacher and two 8th grade boys (hard to impress!) both admired my coat extensively. Must be good
A fun coat but not an every day coat for most. Still, very useful in rainy Seattle where I live.

So here's the deal, I knew I was cute before but this just takes me to the next level. I'm a little afraid other women will attack me out of pure jealousy every time I walk out the door sporting this groovy little number.

This is the perfect rain jacket. I own and wear and love two other Bodean rainy day macs and enjoy them most seasons of the year up here in chilly New England. But once the weather is warm, I've always felt too silly and too hot wearing such a big raincoat . Now, Boden has sent me the warm weather rain jacket of my dreams. The bright yellow color is so cheery, and as typical of Boden, they've added an adorable contrast soft lining in the hood. It fits perfectly. I love it. My favorite purchase of the season.

I was looking for a spring jacket and raincoat in one, and this isn't it. It's a cute raincoat. What I liked was the quality. What I didn't like were the huge buttons. I agree with another reviewer's husband that the coat has a bit of the "Paddington Bear" look. I had to send it back.
