My 8-year-old son loves these shorts. He thinks they are comfortable and cool. I like them because of the nice details (the colored zippers, colored waistband) that make them more fun. I did think they ran a bit small in the rear -- size 8 in other brands are usually big on him (he's tall and thin). The 8y size I originally ordered was too snug in the seat, so I had to return it for the 9y size (which fits much better, if a tad long).

This is the third year we've bought these shorts! Usually I have to size up, but I followed other people's reviews and did not this year! I am happy to say that Boden finally fixed the sizing issues on these adorable shorts! I was able to get a size 5 for my 5 year old who is approximately 44in/45lbs. They are durable and wash well!

I bought these shorts for my average size 9 y.o. son and they are really wonderful. They have a lot of style (love the zippers/pockets) and although they look stiff in the picture they are actually quite soft. I bought the 10 y.o. size and there will be some room for growth. Only disappointed they were out of the orange color so quickly or we would have bought those as well.
