My 8 year old son does not like to fuss with buttons, snaps or zippers. In fact he pulls his pants on and off (with squirming) without opening fasteners even if they are present. Plus, he is often in quite a hurry to use the bathroom. When the company from which we had been getting elastic waist jeans stopped making them, I was happy to find these. My son is 51 inches (130 cm) tall with a 24 1/2 inch (62 cm) waist. He weighs about 59 lbs (27 kg). We purchased the size 10. The knit waist band is substantial and seems comfortable. There is a functional tie which could be used to snug up the waist a bit, but that would defeat the easy on/easy off properties. The length of these jeans is perfect with some growing room without being too long. My son is fairly slim. My one criticism is that these jeans are fairly full in the hips, seat and legs. He calls them "baggy", but I think they are ok. They are not slim fit and may fit an average to somewhat husky boy better than a slim one.

I bought every color available for my active 4 year old as these are some of the only pants that he doesn't wear through within a few months. They are extremely durable and the elastic waist makes it easy for him to dress himself and not have to fuss with snaps or zippers.

These pants are durable! I bought them for my 3 year old, who is very hard on his clothes. They wash and wear extremely well. A must buy!

My granddaughter can do her own thing in these pants without worries of discomfort or getting dirty. She will find a way to dress them up or dress them down!

My son looks great in these! I love how well made they are and how durable. I ordered a 5T even though he is 4 and I just roll up the cuffs and they fit great and hopefully he will get 2 years of use out of them!

These are heavyweight, long lasting denim jeans. The elastic waist keeps them from falling down on my slender little kids. Because of these features, I've purchased them in 3 consecutive sizes so far.

I love that the drawstring waistband is functional. My son is skinny so this provide a good fit for him. It is unlined, though, and somewhat scratchy, I'm hoping the material will get softer after wash (we bought the denim one).
