We can all learn from our grandmas and this pattern is our tribute to all those jumpers she knitted for so many of us over the years. Admittedly, we have chosen a very soft pure cotton yarn which we don't quite remember from our own childhoods but the traditional design, with the useful unbuttoning neck, is 100% hers.

I ordered this sweater in the navy and white, which is so cute, especially paired with the red roll up trousers. It is much softer than one might think, and, though it is a chunky knit, it feels incredibly well made and tightly woven. Sometimes chunky knit sweaters by other companies are more prone to throwing loose threads after a wash or two, but I doubt that will happen with this sweater. The sleeves and trunk are a bit longer, but rolling the sleeves solves that problem, and the sweater still looks cute. I believe this will hold up to many washings, and be a great piece for my baby this spring.

My son looks adorable in the navy/white stripe. The white is more of a cream color, but it still looks good. The fit is similar to the t-shirts this season, slim and narrow through the body with longer sleeves. I would have preferred a more relaxed fit, but sizing up means the sleeves are then way too long. This is very soft and I know my son is very comfortable in it.
