I have twin 5 year old girls but always bey them a size or two up as they are tall. We get the 7-8 year size for these dresses when they are on sale- the girls have two each in different colors. They wear them to school with a turtleneck sweater- they look so cute! They also chose to wear their dresses to a kids party- they wore smart white shirts underneath and patterned tights with a little matching color in the tights. This is the good thing about getting the tights from boden too as they do color match with the dresses. On the subject of tights...we get the girls size 9-10 !!! We could not believe it either!! I think the tights shrink a little in the wash...

Love the color but I was expecting a lining to the dress. We have last year's baby cord dresses and pretty party dresses and have come to really appreciate a good lining to protect my sensitive child's skin from the seaming. Sorry, this would not have worked for us.
